Main Projects

I Ragazzi di Pasteur

“I Ragazzi di Pasteur” is a project developed by IBSA Foundation in collaboration with Istituto Pasteur. It focuses on two main activities: a book series and a special contest designed for students. The purpose of the book series is to explain science to kids in a simple and funny way.

Students are not only participants of the initiative but become actually the authors. The books introduce in the first part a scientific text curated by an expert lecturer of the field and, following, a comic strip regarding the same topic created by Scuola Romana dei Fumetti – school of comics in Rome – based on a script written by a class of students.

Health Literacy

Health literacy represents a special field in which the IBSA Foundation makes its contribution in order to help people to improve their abilities to recognize bad information on the internet. One of the initiatives in this regard is the first guide created to help its users to better recognize internet hoaxes. It includes a series of practical and easy-to-understand directions and guidelines to help guard oneself against incomplete or false information circulating on the Internet, and to improve doctor-patient communication. This guide was created for everyone’s use – both patients and non-patients and it will be distributed primarily through patient associations which will make it available to their members by publishing the documents on their websites.

La Scienza a regola d’Arte

“La Scienza a regola d’Arte (State-of-the-Art Science)” represents an important field of activities for the IBSA Foundation and was inaugurated during a singular event with two special guests: the internationally acclaimed artist Tony Cragg and the mathematician Piergiorgio Odifreddi who investigated the connection between these two apparently unrelated disciplines.Furthermore, the dialogue between Art and Science represents for the Foundation an alternative instrument of dissemination to examine in depth particular scientific topics with the help of such outstanding personalities. The first event, created with MASI –Museo d’arte della Svizzera italiana has taken place in the beautiful setting of the LAC Museum in Lugano
