Partnership

IBSA Foundation draws on a range of partnerships with the academic, cultural, and medical communities, supporting various organisations and institutions in bringing projects and events to fruition.

City of Lugano - Department for Culture

IBSA Foundation and the City of Lugano formed a partnership in 2020, giving rise to the Cultura e Salute project (Culture and Health), aimed at highlighting the role of culture in people’s well-being.

The Cultura e Salute project includes three main activities: organising forums, managing the website culturaesalute.ch, and offering a university course at USI.

DECS - Department of education, culture and sport of Canton Ticino

Since 2018, IBSA Foundation has collaborated with the Department of Education, Culture, and Sport of Canton Ticino (DECS).
This partnership has led to the creation of various workshops for primary, middle, and high schools across Canton Ticino, as part of the Let’s Science! project.
A creative journey into science through comics, designed and promoted for young audiences.

LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura

Since 2023, IBSA Foundation has been the scientific research partner of LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura with the SciArt SwitzerlAnd project.

In collaboration with LAC and MASI, this project aims to foster a stimulating dialogue between the Arts and Science through various event formats and digital products.

LAC edu

IBSA Foundation, with the online portal Ticino Scienza, and LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, through the cultural space LAC edu, kick off a new collaboration.

"Lingua Madre - capsule per il futuro" is a project born from the urgency of the present time. With a very innovative content, it covers three macro thematic areas: Body, Language and Rite. Within the vast programme is a cycle of four conferences to address the problem of language from different points of view.

The conferences are organised by LAC edu in collaboration with Ticino Scienza. They will be recorded and broadcasted online from the end of March until the last days of May 2021

MASI - Museo d'arte della Svizzera italiana

Since 2017, IBSA Foundation has partnered with the Museo d’arte della Svizzera italiana (MASI Lugano) on the SciArt SwitzerlAnd project.

In collaboration with MASI and LAC, this project aims to foster a vibrant dialogue between the Arts and Science through a range of events and digital media formats.

Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologie Leonardo da Vinci

Since 2019, marking the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death, IBSA Foundation has served as the Scientific Partner of the Museo della Scienza e della Tecnologia in Milan and, from 2021, as a Mission Partner supporting its cultural and educational activities.
Through the Digital Aesthetics project, the museum offers a permanent programme of digital art installations, inviting reflection on new digital languages and exploring the connections between artificial intelligence, technological innovation, and artistic creativity. IBSA Foundation has contributed to the project by supporting several installations.

MUSE - Science Museum

IBSA Foundation began its partnership with MUSE - Renzo Piano’s Science Museum in Trento in 2018.
This collaboration focuses on supporting exhibitions and educational events that explore the relationship between the arts and science.

Scuola Romana dei Fumetti & Carocci Editore For a number of years now, IBSA Foundation has worked with Rome-based comic strip school Scuola Romana dei Fumetti and Carocci Editore publishing, as part of the Let’s Science! project. Lugano Living Lab Since 2019, IBSA Foundation has been a partner of Lugano Living Lab, the City of Lugano’s urban laboratory dedicated to promoting and facilitating digital and technological innovation.
This partnership has led to the organisation of various educational events and workshops focused on emerging technologies and mindful digital use, including Digitale tra illusione e realtà and #digitaleOn0ff.
i2a - Istituto Internazionale di Architettura Since 2022, IBSA Foundation has partnered with the International Institute of Architecture, an urban culture centre dedicated to exploring themes related to territory and sustainability. In 2024, this collaboration continued with the second edition of the Call for Actions for the Swiss Biennial of Territory, following the first in 2022. Open to students and professionals worldwide, the call selected 10 projects to be displayed in the beautiful park of Villa Saroli in Lugano, home to the Institute.
In 2023, their shared commitment to citizen health and well-being also gave rise to the Lugano in un’immagine competition. Open to all, this initiative invited participants to capture gestures of care for the territory, environment, and community. Selected images, chosen by a jury, became a public exhibition in Piazza Castello, held from 17 July to 24 November 2023.
